It has been a great day and pleasure for Somali Disability Empowerment Network (SODEN) to get invitation from the office of Somali prime minister Dr. Abdiwali Sh, Ahmed regarding the challenges facing Somali disabled community and their role in current Somali federal Government’s strategy concerning one man one vote at 2016. The meeting has been held at prim minister’s office on Thursday may 30, 2014. The focus topic was current challenges faced Somali PWDs. The main issue discussed in detail was the missing role of Somali PWDs on holding Directorate occupational level particularly Director of department of Disability and Head of Disability rehabilitation department under Ministry of Social and labor affairs. This topic was interesting since these two above vacancies are currently in the hands of none disable persons who could not represent the needs of Somali PWDs. In conclusion, the communiqué of the meeting was to call for inclusive meeting by inviting Minister of Social and Labor affairs, staffs and PWDs to discuss again how PWDs could participate and take their role in Somali federal Government.
