Today, on 5th January 2022, the Somali Disability Empowerment Network SODEN has had a fruitful meeting with the National Disability Agency NDA in Mogadishu on Somali disability rights. The purpose of today’s meeting was to build a collaborative mechanism and commitment among Organizations for Persons with Disability OPDs and the National Disability agency NDA through strengthening the current efforts and advocates in which OPDs and NDA have been doing in the past couple of years.

It is noteworthy that the Somali National Disability Agency has pledged its commitment to work with other non-governmental organizations working on disability rights. As Somali Disability Empowerment Network SODEN, we have been advocating for people with disability for the past 12 years throughout difficult situations and extreme circumstances.

Therefore, we pledged how we are eager to redouble our endeavors that we have been advocating and supporting people with disability to approach the needs of people with disabilities PWDs in Somalia, particularly in the Benadir region and surrounding areas. Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the National Disability Agency, first and foremost the chairman and secretary, for their today’s warm welcome. Thank you very much once again.
