An important meeting between Somalia Disability Empowerment Network (SODEN) and DFID social development adviser was taking place in United Kingdom Embassy in Mogadishu –Somalia.

Mogadishu 25/2/2020: Today Chairman of the Somali Disability Empowerment Network (SODEN) Mr. Mohamed Ali Farah took fruitful meetings with UK DFID Social Development adviser in Somalia, Mr. Leo Thomas, in his office in United Kingdom embassy in Mogadishu Somalia.

Mr. Leo Thomas had given SODEN chairman a warm welcome in the embassy and they were extensively discussed social inclusivity in terms of humanitarian, political, and other aspects of the social life around people with disabilities in Somalia.

During the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Ali Farah was illustrated challenges faces by marginalized communities such as people with disabilities (PWDs), minorities and other discriminated groups and also SODEN response towards Somali people with disability (SPWDs).

Finally, they were deeply talking about the significance of the Somali disabled people’s participation in the upcoming country electoral process both federal government of Somalia and federal member states (FMS) to promote wide-ranging political and encourage people with disabilities to participate election process in order to promote country inclusive politics and development.
